When choosing a team to participate in this years installment of ‘Hard Knocks’, the NFL had to pick between four teams who met certain criteria to appear on the program. This year the four candidates were the New York Jets, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints and the Washington Commanders.
When four-time MVP and Super Bowl Champion Aaron Rodgers finally officially signed with the Jets, the choice was easy and New York was selected. So far they have lived up to the hype as Hard Knocks has been the talk of the football world since the first episode aired a couple weeks back.
Last weeks episode provided a viral moment when the Jets brought in mentalist Oz Pearlman to perform for the team and he had the entire organization in shock when he turned a deck of cards in Aaron Rodgers hand into a goldfish. This weeks episode provided another memorable moment when New York rookie wide receiver Jerome Kapp channeled his inner Eminem and performed the iconic final scene from ‘8 Mile’
In past seasons of ‘Hard ‘Knocks’ rookies tend to perform their alma maters fight song when having to sing in front of their teammates, so this was a nice change of pace by Kapp. Being an undfrated free agent and with the Jets having a deep wide receiver room, it looks as though it will be difficult for Kapp to make the final roster, but he definitely left an impression on his teammates as well as football fans.
