Jemele Hill is going insanely viral this week for her response to Davante Adams being charged with a crime after the country watched him push a phtoographer to the ground.
On Wednesday, Adams was charged with misdemeanor assault for shoving a photographer as he exited the field during Monday Night Football. The charges were reportedly filed by the freelance photographer who was working for ESPN at the time of the incident.
According to KSHB, the student “went to the hospital complaining of whiplash, a headache and possible minor concussion.”
Former ESPN commentator Jemele Hill believed the charges were indicative of racism.
“Totally on brand for how Black men are treated by the police — willing to go above and beyond to prove a point,” she tweeted.

“Police have a certain amount of discretion, just like with speeding tickets. Davante Adams was wrong and admitted that. Does this rise to the level of putting this through the criminal justice system?” she tweeted.
The incident occurred at Arrowhead Stadium after the Kansas City Chiefs rallied from a 17-point deficit to hand the Raiders their fourth loss of the young season. The game ended after the Raiders failed to get a first down as time ran down in the fourth quarter.
Adams was shown after the play slamming his helmet to the ground on the sideline before he pushed the guy.
He caused “whiplash and head ache” and a “possible minor concussion” when he shoved the victim to the ground as he was leaving the field, according to a court document. His court appearance is scheduled for November 10.
Adams apologized during postgame remarks in the locker room and on Twitter.
“Sorry to the guy I pushed over after the game. Obviously very frustrated at the way the game ended and when he ran in front of me as I exited that was my reaction and I felt horrible immediately,” he tweeted. “Thats not me..MY APOLOGIES man hope you see this.”
