The Miami Dolphins could be without a key wide receiver during their next game.
Few players have been more dependable for the Miami Dolphins in the last three seasons than Jaylen Waddle. The Dolphins wide receiver is in concussion protocol after taking a hard hit to the head in Sunday’s win.
Waddle wasn’t spotted at practice Thursday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Now, he is expected to miss the Dolphins Week Three game.
Waddle didn’t practice Wednesday either, but he still has time to progress through the NFL’s five-step concussion protocol ahead of Sunday’s game against the Broncos.
If Waddle doesn’t gain clearance to suit up, then more opportunities will come for Braxton Berrios, River Cracraft, and Erik Ezukanma. Tyreek Hill will still be the primary target for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Waddle had 4 catches for 86 yards in his Miami Dolphins’ 24-17 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday night.
