Jay Glazer may look like a man who wears suits every day, but he is an avid fighter who specializes in mixed martial arts. because of his passion, he has had many injuries to his body.
Those years of sparring have taken quite a toll on his spine, and it cost him two vertebrae in his lower back.
This week, the longtime NFL Insider revealed on Twitter that he traveled to Panama so he could get stem cell treatments on his spine. Glazer stated that ruptures in his back have left him with no L4 and L5 vertebrae and several discs are in danger of being lost too.
Doctors have recommended “fusion” surgery, though Glazer is hoping to avoid that procedure at all costs.
“THIS is why I’m in #panama getting stem cell treatments and what doc wanted to fuse. I have no L4/L5 left from all the ruptures, few discs up too are on their way out. Sooooo pretty. I’ve walked around and trained with this somehow for years but it caught up to me. Will have an update later today on how treatments are going,” Glazer wrote.
He also provided an x-ray of the damage to his spine.
