Baker Mayfield may be the best quarterback the Cleveland Browns have had over the past few decades, but according to Jay Glazer, that may not be enough to satisfy the Browns’ front office this offseason.
According to the NFL insider, the Browns could look at other options to replace Mayfield this offseason. During his appearance on the Pat McAfee show, Glazer spilled the following beans on the Browns’ quarterback situation:
“I think the Browns are gonna kind of, at the end of the year, kind of look at all their options and make a decision…Who can we get? Is he our best option? It’s kind of a sticky situation, right? Because after they look at it like, ‘okay, we can win with this guy. He can be our guy. Because Baker’s a little different, right? He’s got some sh-t in him? But they’re bee a lot of veterans that are perhaps up for grabs there in the offseason.”
When questioned on who could be available, Glazer followed up by naming Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers.
Here’s the interview:
Baker signed a four-year contract back in 2018, so he’ll be looking for a new deal this offseason. Glazer pointed out that, should Cleveland not be able to find a better option, they will likely look at retaining Mayfield long term.
