Last week, free agent running back Jay Ajayi visited the Indianapolis Colts, but ended up leaving without a deal in place.
As early as a few days ago, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, was said to have been maintaining discussions with the Eagles about the veteran running back possibly returning.
That all died when the Eagles pulled off a trade for Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard.
Shortly after the announcement, Ajayi took to Instagram and posted a picture of himself in an Eagles uniform with a peace sign emoji, basically signaling that he definitely wasn’t coming back to the team.
Ajayi might be on the market well after the Draft, especially after he tore his ACL in October.
In the 2016 and 2017 seasons, Ajayi was healthy and rushed for 1,272 yards and 873 yards respectively.
