As if the San Francisco 49ers defense wasn’t already scary enough…
With free agency opening today, the NFC runner-ups made one of the first big moves of the new season. And as a double-whammy, they also made one of their key competitors a tad weaker.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Niners are signing former Eagles defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to a massive four-year, $84-million deal.
The Niners already have several stars on defense including Nick Bose, Arik Armstead, Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw. And now they’ve added another stud in Hargrave.
San Francisco is expected to be one of the NFC’s top powerhouses and this signing should only help their cause. Javon Hargrave, 30, finished the 2022 season with 60 total tackles, 11 sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
