Harrison Butker’s commencement ceremony comments aren’t likely to be forgotten anytime soon.
Kylie Kelce, the wife of former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, recently broke her silence on the controversial statement that had the nation up in arms several weeks ago.
The Kansas City Chiefs kicker was speaking at Benedictine College when he encouraged the graduating women to focus on family building, insisting it would provide more fulfillment than a career.
“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you,” he said. “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.
“I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”
What Kylie Kelce Had To Say About Harrison Butker’s Comments
Kylie didn’t disagree with Harrison outright but countered by claiming that the choice should be the woman’s.
“I think that everyone is entitled to their own opinion,” she said while working at the Eagles Autism Foundation on Thursday (H/T WFIN) “I hope that, if anyone does not align with those views in that graduating class, that they know they achieved something.”

“Those women graduating in that class have achieved something that no one can take away from them. Their education will stick with them for the rest of their lives. I hope that they were appropriately celebrated if that was not their view. If it was, and they’re looking forward to making a family and being a stay-at-home mom, then more power to them.”
Kyle added that women should support each other’s choices and foster a space where they can all feel pleased with their decisions.
“I think, as women, we should support each other in our choices and make sure that we feel as though we can do whatever we would like to do,” she continued.
“So, hopefully, those graduating know that, at the very least, I’m very proud of them and hope that they go on to do whatever makes their heart happy.”
Despite calls for the Chiefs to release Butker, the reigning Super Bowl champs have indicated they will do no such thing, though he is likely to have his role reduced next season as they don’t want him taking hits.
