It may look clear and simple on TV, but the Philadelphia Eagles’ signature “tush push” play is anything but fun for Philadelphia Eagles superstar center Jason Kelce.
The Eagles made the well-known “tush push” play famous by running it time and time again during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Getting extra pushes from behind, quarterback Jalen Hurts was a practical guarantee to get a first down or a touchdown on plays where he only needed a yard.
Despite the play’s effectiveness and almost-perfect success rate, Kelce recently admitted that he’s no fan of the “tush push”, per FOX’s Laura Okmin.
According to Okmin, Kelce once told her that he likes to scream “F**K my life!” whenever he has to participate in the tush push play. Hurts even confirmed this story, per Okmin.
The play is nearly impossible to stop, and the NFL even considered banning it last year. That obviously didn’t happen, but the league might revisit the idea of banning the “tush push” permanently after the season.
Hurts racked up 13 rushing touchdowns in 15 games last season and had a career-high 15 rushing scores in 17 games this year. A large portion of those TDs, of course, are courtesy of the “tush push.”
