Five-time Pro Bowl wideout Jarvis Landry worked out with a playoff-hopeful club in the AFC, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
Yates reports that Landry was one of several wideouts that the Indianapolis Colts worked out on Tuesday. The 31-year-old spent the 2022 season with the New Orleans Saints, and he’s gone unsigned since the end of that campaign.
The Colts hope to have star wideout Michael Pittman Jr. (in concussion protocol) back for Sunday’s Week 16 road game against the Atlanta Falcons. Pittman Jr. left Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after taking a vicious hit from safety Damontae Kazee, who was suspended for the rest of the regular season.
If Pittman Jr. can’t go, Indy will need some wide receiver insurance. As Yates noted, they already added Jaydon Mickens. We’ll soon find out if they bring in the former Miami Dolphins’ superstar as well.
After a superb four-year run with the Dolphins that saw him post two 1,000-yard seasons, Landry was traded to Cleveland in the 2018 offseason. Landry surpassed 800 receiving yards three times there and helped the Browns end an 18-year playoff drought in 2020.
Landry’s 2022 season with New Orleans was marred by injuries and inconsistent production. He was limited to nine games and finished the year with only 25 receptions for 272 yards and one touchdown.
