Being a member of the Browns’ offense, it’s understandable Jarvis Landry wouldn’t have seen Myles Garrett’s vicious helmet swing at Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph when it happened. So it is also understandable that, upon hearing something as crazy as, “your teammate tried to knock the opposing QB in the noggin with his own helmet,” one might have a chuckle.
That’s what happened when Michael Irvin tried to explain what unfolded on the field to Landry and Odell Beckham during the NFL Network’s postgame show:
In all fairness to Landry, he hadn’t seen the play yet. Upon seeing what had actually happened, he too admitted that Garrett’s actions were ugly and there is not room in the game for that.
