Just a week after the Browns waived wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. following his father showing off multiple clips of Baker Mayfield not targeting or falt out missing his son on the field, we know have another Browns WR who is confused about his role in the offense.
Speaking with reporters at a recent food drive event, Jarvis Landry seemed clueless as to why he has not been receiving the football in the offense.
“I haven’t been getting the ball so much either,” Landry said. “But at the end of the day, I’ve been able to do with the opportunities I’m given.”
Landry has been targeted 34 times through six games played this season, which comes out to about 5.6 targets a game. This would be his lowest per-game rate during his Browns tenure:
2021: 5.6 targets per game (six games played);
2020: 6.7 targets per game (15 games played);
2019: 8.6 targets per game (16 games played);
2018: 9.3 targets per game (16 games played).
Landry currently has 219 yards on 23 catches. The leading WR is Donovan Peoples-Jones, who has 330 yards. Tight end David Njoku leads the Browns in receiving yards with 352.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield, who has seemingly regressed in Year 4, has received the brunt of the criticism for the lack of passing production in 2021. He has also been playing through a torn labrum in his left shoulder, so that is not helping things at all.
He is throwing 221 yards per game, the lowest mark of his career.
