Janoris Jenkins just made an already tough day even worse.
In Sunday’s 28-14 loss to the Bills, the Giants allowed passes of 15, 17, 18, 26, and 51 yards. Those are huge plays that cannot happen.
Janoris Jenkins seems to know why, and it wasn’t because of him.
The New York Giants cornerback blamed the Giants’ pass rush.

“When you’ve got time [to throw] and you ain’t getting no pressure, I can’t cover nobody for 10 seconds,” Jenkins said. “Who can cover somebody for 10 seconds? Go look at the first five seconds of the route. He’s not open. If you’re scrambling and there ain’t no pressure getting there, what do you want me to do? I can’t cover this side and that side. Come on, bro. We’ve got to play football around here.”
Jenkins was asked about how the pass rushers will feel being called out:

“I ain’t calling nobody out,” he said. “I said we’ve got to get pressure. You just called them out. Thank you. Next question.”
“It’s the same thing, man,” he said. “He’s just sitting back there patting the ball. We’ve got to get pressure on him. If you give any quarterback five, eight seconds in the pocket, he’s going to find open receivers.”
As for those Bills wide receivers running open Sunday:
“They weren’t running open,” Jenkins said. “Any one of them score?”
“Oh, well, I didn’t see no touchdowns by any of them,” Jenkins said. “How many yards did they have? Let me know, and then I’ll get back with you on that one.”
Bills had four touchdowns scored on Sunday, while Josh Allen threw for 253 yards and had 101.1 qb rating.
It took him awhile, but Jenkins acknowleged the secondary must play better.
“Oh, man, we’ve got to make some changes,” he said. “We’ve got to make fixes. Everybody has got to make corrections. [The quarterback] can’t just stand back there and pat the ball with no pressure. There’s 11 people that play football.”
