Former Pittsburgh Steelers star linebacker James Harrison has responded to accusations from Antonio Brown that he gave the controversial ex-wide receiver CTE.
In a recent Instagram live video, Brown claims that the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year gave him CTE. Brown, whose career accomplishments have been overshadowed by a plethora of legal troubles and off-the-field controversies, said he’s been “super aggressive” ever since he took a hit from Harrison.
How does someone like Harrison respond to outrageous claims like this? He found a way to keep it short, sweet and humorous with the following tweet:
Harrison and Brown were teammates together in Pittsburgh for the latter’s first three NFL seasons (2010-12) and again from 2014 to 2017. The Steelers were among the NFL’s top clubs during their tenure together, reaching Super Bowl 45 as well as the AFC Championship Game in 2016.
The Steelers released Harrison late in the 2017 season due to disagreements over his playing time. He was picked up by the rival New England Patriots and had a superb short-term stint there, helping them to a Super Bowl 52 appearance, where they fell to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Brown left the Steelers ahead of their final 2018 regular season game after a heated argument with teammate Ben Roethlisberger in practice. The Steelers wound up trading the disgruntled wideout to the Raiders in the 2019 offseason, but his behavior and off-field antics prompted the organization to release Brown before he ever played a snap for them.
Brown last played an NFL game in Week 17 of the 2021 season as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He took off his uniform following an argument with the coaching staff about his injury status, walked out of the game and was released soon after.
