Back in late December, there was a report that Jameis Winston was looking for over $30 million annually in a contract extension and would be “extremely unhappy” with a franchise tag.
Instead, the Tampa Bay Bucs went out and signed Tom Brady and Jameis was on the outside looking in as he prepared to head to his next team.
This week, it was made official that he would be a member of the New Orleans Saints and his contract with the team was just revealed and he, of course, got nothing close to what he was hoping in free agency.
According to Field Yates, Winston’s one-year contract with the Saints is worth $1.1 million and includes a $148,000 signing bonus. He can earn another $3.4 million in incentives for a total of $4.5 million.
