Jameis Winston made a decision that could be better for him in the long run. The Former Bucs quarterback clearly saw Teddy Bridgewater benefited from a year or two on the New Orleans Saints depth chart, and decided he wanted that experience for himself.
The former first overall draft pick passed up “more lucrative offers” from other teams as a free agent this offseason, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
We would later find out that Winston had a more lucrative deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers on the table, but he opted to take a deal with the Saints instead.
Winston is looking for new life in his career after throwing for 5,109 yards, 33 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions last season.
Winston joins quarterback Tayson Hill and newly drafted Tommy Stevens as the quarterbacks behind Drew Brees on the depth chart.
