Jameis Winston has never really been a small man at the quarterback position, but now he’s just overdoing it.
With head coach Bruce Arians taking over for the team for the foreseeable future, the offense is definitely going to look different going forward. I don’t think Arians realizes just how different when he signed up, because his starting QB has a plan for 2019.
While attending Arians’ golf tournament on Saturday, Winston revealed he plans to play the quarterback position at the biggest he’s ever been.
“I’m getting it. I’m going to play bigger this year,” Winston said, via the Tampa Bay Times. “I’m about 250. Yeah. A solid 250. It’s just about hydration and being at the peak body, too.”
2019 is a pivotal season for Winston who continues to be inconsistent on and off the field.
He is not signed past this season and if he does in 2019 what he did in 2018 that got him benched in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick, he’ll find himself on the outside looking in.
