On Friday, the Tampa Bay Bucs finally announced the signing of Tom Brady, who inked a two-year deal worth $50 million – with a potential to make $9 million more in incentives.
After signing the six-time Super Bowl champion, that means Jameis Winston will be on the outside looking in.
The former No. 1 overall pick struggled with turnovers in 2020 anbd pretty much sealed his fate once the rumors of Brady signing with the franchise became real.
A day after Brady signed, Winston had a simple goodbye message for his former team, but noted that he would be back in February.
“It’s been a great 5 seasons as a Buccaneer,” Winston said. “All love and respect, I love Tampa and I look forward to seeing y’all again in February.”
Super Bowl LV will be played on February 7, 2021, in Tampa, Florida.

Winston became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions last season, and it looks like he’ll be looking for a back-up job going forward, even though he led the NFL in passing yards during the 2019 season while setting career highs in passing yards and touchdowns.
