Ja’Marr Chase is one of the Cincinnati Bengals’ most important offensive players, but he was not in for overtime against the Minnesota Vikings due to a right shoulder injury that would end his day late in the game.
Chase was checked out in the locker room and returned to the sidelines in street clothes.
Mike Garafolo reported on the NFL Network broadcast that the receiver was dealing with a separated shoulder.
Without him, the Bengals scored a touchdown on a pass from Jake Browning to Tee Higgins in the closing seconds of regulation to tie the score at 24-24 and force overtime. Cincinnati outlasted Minnesota 27–24, winning in overtime. It was Cincinnati’s third win in a row after losing its previous three and falling out of the playoff picture.
Despite being banged up a ton, Chase has not missed a game this season, and he entered Saturday’s contest with 89 receptions for 1,092 yards and seven touchdowns. Prior to his exit on Saturday, Chase had four catches for 64 yards in the contest.

If he misses much time this season that will make the Bengals playoff odds even tougher as Browning no longer has one of the best receivers in the league to throw to.
