Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals might iron out a very team-friendly deal, which is believable based on what Ja’Marr Chase had to say during Super Bowl week.
During an appearance on the NFL Network, Chase said that he thinks Burrow is not worried about the money he will make so it will allow him to “keep some of his weapons around him.”
“At the end of the day, I don’t think Joe’s really too worried about how much money he’s gonna make, cause he’s already making a tremendous amount,” Chase said. “It’ll always work. It’ll work out for itself. It’ll all work out. I think Joe knows what he wants and how he wants to set up his contract to keep some of his weapons around him and I think that’s the biggest part for him.”
After just three seasons in the NFL, Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow has already established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the entire league and is likely headed for a huge payday.
If what Chase is saying is true, this could prove huge for the Bengals as they try to keep their young talent under contract. The Bengals might want to get this extension done this offseason as a way to stay ahead of the quarterback market, among other reasons.
Getting Burrow out of the way could set up possible extensions for weapons like Tee Higgins and Chase. Burrow is now eligible for the extension and both sides have made it clear they want to get started on the process.
