Seahawks safety Jamal Adams has been fined by the NFL as the league determined he “directed verbal remarks and made inappropriate physical contact” with a doctor on the sideline during his team’s recent loss to the Bengals, per CBS.
Adams, who has been handed a $50,000 fine, received a letter notifying him that he interfered with the orderly administration of the game when he got involved with an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant who was walking to the medical tent with his teammate Jake Bobo.
Bobo took a big hit after making a catch off a 20-yard pass from Geno Smith as he was decked by Bengals safety Dak Hill, who was penalized. He was taken into the tent for an assessment and later returned to the game.
CBS cites a source who claims that there is a video of the incident in question which was reviewed by the league prior to the fine being handed down.
Adams was involved in a similar incident earlier this month when he yelled at another independent doctor while he was being taken for a concussion evaluation. He was diagnosed with a concussion and the league opted not to punish him.
“First and foremost, I want to apologize to the OG. You did everything right when you realized I was concussed, I apologize for any negative energy I brought your way,” he wrote in an apology.
