Most people watching today’s Divisional Round game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills probably thought the visiting Bengals had taken a commanding 21-7 lead late in the first half, when Joe Burrow hit Ja’Marr Chase in the end zone for a spectacular catch…
But this is the NFL, where catches aren’t always what they seem.
After a long review, the officials determined that Chase didn’t have full possession of the ball after getting his to feet inbounds in the back of the end zone.
The Bills and their fans may have liked the call, but most people on social media were absolutely furious with the refs and the NFL, as no one seems to know exactly what a catch is anymore.
