The NFL may have a new fastest wide receiver following a display by one of the league’s newest players.
New York Giants rookie Jalin Hyatt, who was drafted in the third round this year, has reportedly been tearing it up in training this summer.
After notching 1,267 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns for Tennessee in 2022, Hyatt has impressed at training camp, putting his pace on display as he is said to have clocked 24 miles per hour after turning on the afterburners in training this week.
Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill hit the fastest speed in NFL history at 23.2 miles per hour, but that was in 2016. While he is still a speedster, he can’t be expected to run at the same speed nine years later, which could mean Hyatt is now the fastest wideout in the league.
According to reports, speed isn’t the only thing Hyatt has put on exhibition in training camp, and notably made a contested toe-drag catch on the sidelines at one point.

It will be interesting to see how things shape up for the rookie in the upcoming season. The Giants didn’t have any of their receivers record over 750 yards last season and they scored a combined 13 touchdowns between them.
They have also lost pass-catching talent in the offseason, though they did acquire Darren Waller.
Hyatt should have an opportunity to prove his worth should he keep impressing his coaches in training. It could be an exciting rookie season for the 21-year-old.
