The Minnesota Vikings are still cutting players after finalizing their initial 53-man roster ahead of Tuesday’s deadline and have waived a former first-round pick this Wednesday.
That is according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who reports that the Vikings have waived wide receiver Jalen Reagor after acquiring him via a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles last season.
Reagor, who was selected as the No. 21 overall pick by Philly in 2020, caught just eight passes for 104 yards last season, also scoring one touchdown. He caught the same number of passes for 93 yards in preseason.
The Vikings likely made the move in order to make room for a running back as they’ve also signed Myles Gaskin.
Gaskin was released by the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday, with the Fins keen on trading for Jonathan Taylor. However, Taylor will remain with the Indianapolis Colts for the time being as the latter has decided to keep him as they did not get an offer they felt was reasonable.
Gaskin spent the first four years of his career with the Dolphins, rushing for a total of 1,355 yards and adding another 701 through the air. He’s scored 13 career touchdowns.
