Jalen Ramsey has put the rest of the NFL on notice following his trade to the Miami Dolphins.
The six-time Pro Bowl cornerback moved to Miami as part of a deal with the Los Angeles Rams that saw tight end Hunter Long go the other way. The Rams have also received a third-round draft pick for this year’s draft.
Ramsey has been taking Miami in since the move and was in attendance when the resident Miami Heat beat the visiting Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. He spoke to a Heat reporter while sitting courtside with new teammate Xavien Howard and promised the city “some special things” as he declared the Fins have “the best cornerback duo in the league now.”
Ramsey has since spoken to reporters in a Thursday South Beach press conference, where he claimed the Dolphins roster is the best one he’s ever been on.
He said:
“On paper, this is the best group that I’ve been a part of, and I feel like I’ve been a part of some good groups in Jacksonville and also L.A. But on paper, I feel like this is the best one. Obviously, with me and X on the outside, and then you’ve got the young guys — you’ve got Jevon (Holland), we just got DeShon Elliott, Brandon (Jones), Kader (Kohou). So I think we’ve got a good secondary on paper if you look at it.
“But we’ve got to put the work in. We can speak it as much as we want to, but we’re gonna have to go out there and prove it, and that’s what we’ll plan to do. But it’s not just about us. It’s the whole defense and the whole team. I think we can do something special if we put that work in and be as one.”

Howard is a three-time Pro Bowler himself while Ramsey remains one of the best players in the cornerback position, so the latter could be on to something. One thing’s for sure, though: the Dolphins are trending in an upward trajectory.
