Los Angeles Rams All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey has been frequently mentioned in trade rumors since the conclusion of the club’s 2022 regular season campaign.
In a since-deleted tweet, Ramsey addressed the trade rumors by stating that he wouldn’t be released. At the end of the tweet, he wrote “Maybe” on the possibility of a trade.
Sean McVay’s decision to return as LA’s head coach is a strong indicator that the Rams will pass on a rebuild and try to remain competitive again in 2023. But if GM Les Snead looks to trade away his All-Pro corner, there certainly won’t be a shortage of interested teams.
At Bleacher Report, Alex Ballentine proposed an intriguing trade idea in which the Rams would deal their superstar cornerback to the New England Patriots in exchange for the No. 47 and No. 108 selections plus the Patriots’ 2024 third-round pick:
“The outspoken cornerback got put on highlight reels a little more than usual by giving up five touchdowns, but he still has the ability to put the clamps on a receiver any given week.
The Patriots may have found a hidden gem in Jack Jones. He saw 54 percent of the defensive snaps as a rookie and limited quarterbacks to a passer rating of 64.8 while picking off two passes in his part-time role.
Assuming he will continue to develop with a Patriots coaching staff that has developed the likes of Jackson and Stephon Gilmore, the Pats could have a dominant cornerback tandem to take their good defense to the next level.”
Bill Belichick has worked with many great cornerbacks over the years, including Ty Law, Asante Samuel, Aqib Talib, Darrelle Revis, Stephon Gilmore and J.C. Jackson. Ramsey would surely help upgrade an already stout New England defense, but whether or not the Rams actually look at trading him is another story.

Having Ramsey would certainly help the Patriots better defend against the many elite quarterbacks in the AFC. If the Rams put him on the trade block, do not be surprised if the Patriots inquire.
