A return timeline has been announced for Miami Dolphins quarterback Jalen Ramsey following an operation this Friday.
The six-time Pro Bowler suffered a serious knee injury during practice on Thursday which has ruled him out for the Dolphins’ opening games. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has since reported that the player underwent a full meniscus repair and will remain sidelined until December.
“Dolphins star Jalen Ramsey did, in fact, undergo a full meniscus repair this morning, sources say, knocking him out until December,” Rapoport said. “While it takes him off the field for the first half of 2023, it is the best long-term health option for Ramsey. It likely lengthens his career.”
This is undoubtedly devastating for the Dolphins and their fans given that Ramsey was acquired during the offseason with the aim of him leading their secondary. On the other hand, he will be back at some point next season unless he suffers a setback.
The team is likely in the market for a veteran CB in the wake of this development but will rely on Xavien Howard, Cam Smith, Kader Kohou, and Justin Bethel for now.
