The quarterback situation in Philadelphia has been controversial all season long, and it got even more confusing when Doug Pederson suddenly benched Jalen Hurts in Week 17.
Down just three points in the fourth quarter, rookie Jalen Hurts was pulled from the game and replaced by Nate Sudfeld.
After the loss, Hurts reacted to that decision:
“As a competitor I play to win. But you’ve got to trust coach with that,” Hurts said, via NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo.
Jalen Hurts completed 7 of 20 passes for just 72 yards and one interception before he was pulled. He wasn’t exactly lighting up the field and scoreboard.
Through his first three starts as Eagles quarterback, Hurts threw for 847 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions.
