Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Hurts has left the team with very little doubt that he’s their long-term quarterback. But if anyone doubted his leadership skills, they may want to rethink that.
On Sunday, Hurts led Philly to a 26-17 home win over the rival Dallas Cowboys on prime time. The victory moved Philadelphia to 6-0 for the first time since 2004, the year they reached Super Bowl 39 thanks to the dynamic duo of Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens.
The Eagles’ social media team recently shared a video of Hurts giving an epic locker room speech to his teammates following Sunday’s win over Dallas, which you can check out below.
Many fans and pundits were stunned when the Eagles drafted Hurts in the second round back in 2020. This came a year after the organization handed then-starter Carson Wentz a lucrative contract extension, after all.
But Wentz’s dismal play in a frustrating 2020 season prompted then-Eagles head coach Doug Pederson to give Hurts a try. Though Philly wound up firing Pederson and replacing him with Nick Sirianni, they saw enough from Hurts and gave him the starting duties for 2021.
Hurts overcame a sluggish start and led the Eagles to a 9-8 season in 2021, enough to snag the final wild card spot in the NFC. As a sophomore, he completed 61.3 percent of pass attempts for 3,144 yards and 16 touchdowns against nine picks to go along with 784 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Eagles are the only remaining undefeated team in the NFC, and they’ll enjoy a Week 7 bye before trying to remain perfect with a home showdown against the Pennsylvania rival Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8
