Kimberley A. Martin filled in for Stephen A. Smith on First Take on Tuesday and if her plan was to make headlines, she certainly accomplished that.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is coming off the best season of his NFL career, yet the ESPN host claims that Hurts is the most “disrespected” player in the NFL. You should know Hurts is fresh off leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl in only his third season, in which the Eagles went 14-1 in the regular season when he started.
Just this offseason, Hurts signed a five-year contract extension that, along with contract incentives, is worth $255 million.
If that is disrespect, then we all need a taste of that action.
Martin pointed to Hurts being listed as the No. 6 quarterback in the NFL by ESPN heading into the 2023 season. She believes he deserves to be ahead of Justin Herbert who was behind center when his Chargers’ team blew an insane lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card round.
Martin added Hurts should be ahead of Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers, citing Rodgers’ age and Allen’s lack of success in the playoffs.

The 24-year-old was an MVP candidate last season, throwing for 3,701 yards with 22 touchdowns to six interceptions while rushing for 760 yards and 13 scores.
He can further shut down his doubters if he can prove that the 2022 season was not a fluke.
