Jalen Hurts played through a knee injury on Sunday, firing the Philadelphia Eagles to a 38-31 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Hurts had one of his best outings in a Philly jersey as he earned a 135.7 passer rating as he completed 29-of-38 passes for 319 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. However, he was playing on an injured knee that required an hour of treatment after the game, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Mike Sielski, having gotten hurt during the Eagles’ previous game against the Miami Dolphins.
Hurts and the 7-1 Eagles are heading into the toughest part of their schedule as they’re playing the Dallas Cowboys next weekend and have games against the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and San Francisco 49ers before they play the Cowboys again.
These next five games will be a trial of fire for the Eagles, who boast the best record in the league but could come out on the other side of the aforementioned period worse for wear and will need Hurts at his brilliant best.
On a brighter note, A.J. Brown has been on a tear these last few games. His performance on Sunday saw him become the first wide receiver in NFL history to reach at least 125 yards in six consecutive games.
