The Philadelphia Eagles were so close to having their entire season come to a crashing end off one play that not many people knew about.
Jalen Hurts passed for 303 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 72 yards and another score, and the Philadelphia Eagles outlasted the Los Angeles Rams 23-14 on Sunday to remain unbeaten.
On one play during that game, the Eagles quarterback was in the midst of escaping two would-be Rams defenders when he got knocked off track and his ankle buckled below him as he ran. Somehow he was not seriously hurt.
The Eagles won yet again, making them a perfect 5-0 on the year. Hurts’ growth has continued even after securing a huge contract this offseason, and he was dominant versus the Rams’ defense.
His rushing ability continues to separate him from most other quarterbacks in the league.
Hurts threw for 303 yards on 25-of-38 passing with a touchdown and an interception. He also added 15 carries for 72 yards and another score. Dallas Goedert had eight catches for 117 yards and an early TD while A.J. Brown had six catches for 127 yards.
