Jalen Carter has revealed he has received assurances from a certain team ahead of the 2023 NFL draft and expects to play in their uniform as long as other teams leave him on the board.
The Georgia defensive tackle did not have a great pre-draft period as he was charged by police in reference to an accident that claimed the lives of two people after the Bulldogs won the national championship earlier this year. He also gave a very poor account of himself at the Scouting combine, as well as during Georgia’s Pro Day.
Even so, the player refused to make any visits to teams picking out of the top 10.
As it happens, the Philadelphia Eagles are picking at No. 10 and are said to have assured the DT they will pick him as long as he’s available. That’s according to Jalen himself.
Asked on Wednesday whether he was promised as much by the NFC champions, his response was “Yes sir.”
It appears that the player’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus has been told by Eagles GM Howie Roseman that the team will make Jalen the 10th overall pick as long as it’s possible.

However, the Seattle Seahawks are considered the favorites to take him at No. 5.
