Jalen Carter isn’t having the best of times at exactly the wrong time.
Previously tipped to go No.1 in the NFL Draft this year, the former Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle has seen his stock tank following the release of a warrant in his name and a subsequent arrest.
According to ESPN, Carter showed up to Georgia’s pro day this Wednesday nine pounds heavier than he was at the NFL Scouting Combine, which was only the weekend before last.
The Worldwide Leader in Sports is reporting that the DT was unable to complete his position drills as he struggled with various exercises.
Carter is said to have opted to stick to position drills and declined to participate in other workouts, including cone drills and the 40-yard dash. He opted out of other physical checks, also failing to complete the position drills as he was breathing heavily and experienced cramping.
All 32 NFL teams had scouts and coaches looking on at the event. Three head coaches, Arthur Smith of the Falcons, Bears HC Matt Eberflus, and Mike Tomlin of the Steelers, were in attendance as well.

Carter didn’t work out in front of scouts at the Combine either – that was never the plan. He did conduct interviews with NFL teams and has his measurements taken but missed the media session as a result of his legal issues and didn’t speak to reporters in Georgia on Wednesday either.
