Jalen Carter doesn’t appear to be in bad shape at all on the back of reports claiming the youngster might not be ready for an NFL career due to a drastic drop where his physical attributes are concerned.
Analysts cast doubt over the player’s fitness ahead of the recent NFL Draft, yet the takes had little effect on the Philadelphia Eagles, who traded up a spot in the first round to ensure they got the former Georgia defensive tackle at No. 9 overall.
Carter has found himself embroiled in legal issues as he was charged for his involvement in a fatal accident that claimed the lives of a former Bulldogs teammate and a staffer attached to the program. The criminal case is over due to a no-contest deal but the father of one of the deceased is suing him for millions.
The defensive star admittedly did not look great during Pro Day activities earlier in the year but that hardly suggested he would not be ready to go by the time OTAs came around.
A clip has since surfaced of the player going to work in practice and he really does look to be in great shape. You could check him out right below:

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni did note earlier this month that neither Jalen nor his teammates were conditioned for the season but he was not worried about it.
“So today was not about finding out what their conditioning level was,” Sirianni was quoted as saying. “Today was about going out there and my coaching points to our coaches were, listen, their bodies are not ready to play yet. This is all about protecting the players while still getting ready to play.”
The Eagles will hope that Carter’s arrival will help them return to the Super Bowl in 2024 after falling short at the final hurdle this year, though they are thought to have the toughest schedule heading into the upcoming campaign.
