Philadelphia Eagles rookie Jalen Carter paid homage to LeBron James after helping his team beat the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night, but perhaps not in the way the NBA superstar would have wanted.
The Eagles moved to 6-1 with a 31-17 win over Miami, leaving Mike McDaniel’s side at 5-2. At one point during the game, the former Georgia Bulldogs star produced a flop for the ages during a physical exchange with Austin Jackson as he fell to the ground rather dramatically. He got lucky on the play too given that fouls were offset and the visitors did not get to move their chains with an automatic first down.
Per Eagles reporter Josh Tolentino, Carter jokingly credited LeBron with the inspiration on the back of the victory. “I was just thinking about LeBron! I was like ‘Oh, what would LeBron do!” he said, acknowledging the flop.
To be fair, LBJ is known for pulling off theatrics like this on occasion, though Jalen isn’t quite on his level yet.
Carter, who was drafted as the ninth overall pick earlier this year, has been a huge part of Philly’s defense this season with 3.5 sacks, eight solo tackles, and 2 forced fumbles in six appearances.
