In his fourth career start, Bengals quarterback Jake Browning led his team back from a 14-point second-half deficit to defeat the Vikings 27–24 at Paycor Stadium.
Browning’s story is a great one as no one expected him to play this good with Joe Burrow out for the year.
He received a bunch of congratulations, but it was one message that truly gave him his welcome to the NFL moment.
Following Cincinnati’s 27-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings, Browning received a text message saying he’s to be drug tested on Sunday. Browning posted the text to his Instagram story.
“This is Joe, DCO on behalf of the NFL. You’re on my list for a urine steroid test tomorrow,” the text read, courtesy of Browning’s Instagram account. “I will be in the testing area from 9:30-12:30.”
“Random” drug tests following standout games from NFL players are nothing new. All NFL players are subject to random drug tests throughout the season, but this one arrives with interesting timing after Browning threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns on 29-of-42 passing against Minnesota.

The Bengals have won their past three games with Browning, defeating playoff-caliber opponents in the Jaguars, Colts, and Vikings.
Many left the Bengals for dead after Burrow’s injury but here they are still in the thick of things in the AFC,
Next up for the Bengals is a showdown with the Steelers who are also playing on Saturday.
