The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a move at the quarterback position amid the uncertainty over Trevor Lawrence’s status for Week 14.
Lawrence picked up an ankle injury against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night and, while he won’t require surgery and isn’t expected to miss much time, he remains a game-time decision ahead of the Jags’ Cleveland Browns matchup.
The QB was able to return to practice this week and had limited training but the Jaguars are taking every precaution and have brought in another signal caller in the buildup to Sunday’s clash.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, Nathan Rourke has been signed to the active roster.
The Canadian QB has split his time between the active roster and the practice squad this season and would likely function as a backup to CJ Beathard if Lawrence can’t suit up on Sunday.
Beathard is also injured as he’s dealing with a shoulder injury, though it isn’t expected to prevent him from playing if needs be.
