Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson has discussed Trevor Lawrence’s injury following the quarterback’s ordeal on Monday night.
The Jags suffered an overtime loss vs. the Cincinnati Bengals on the night, with Lawrence sustaining an ankle problem that kept him from returning to the game after being helped down the tunnel.
Backup QB CJ Beathard completed 9/10 passes for 63 yards after Lawrence left the game.
It’s a pretty bad week for Jags fans given the loss, as well as the injury to their starting quarterback. However, they should find some reprieve from Pederson’s assessment. The head coach has revealed that the player is dealing with a high ankle sprain and hasn’t suffered any serious damage.
“Everything’s stable, everything looks good,” he noted in an update on Tuesday afternoon.
It appears Lawrence has a chance to play against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, which is more than can be said for wide receiver Christian Kirk, who is out with a “core muscle injury” and will “miss some time” after hurting himself on a catch during last night’s loss.
