Urban Meyer might still be the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars after his many apologies to his team and front office, but that does not mean he has regained the respect of his locker room. If anything, it might just have gotten worse over the past few days.
The three-time national title-winning head coach has been a non-stop topic on social media and sports shows after footage surfaced showing him at a bar getting grinded on by a young woman who was not his wife. This came about after he failed to fly back with his team after they lost to the Bengals on Thursday Night Football.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, many Jaguars players are “shocked” he’s still the head coach.
“He is a laughingstock in that locker room right now. (My client) said he’s a con man. They think he’s a fraud. How do you not fly home with your team?” the agent for one Jaguars player told CBS Sports.
“You can’t make morality a central theme of your leadership message, and then do this,” the agent for another Jaguars player said. “It undermines everything. You can’t be holier than thou and do as I say and then do this. You don’t get up from something like this. These players see right through him. I can’t believe they didn’t fire him.”

His tenure with the Jags has been filled with controversy since he signed on earlier this year to return to coaching and try his hand in the NFL. Meyer touched off a firestorm this summer when he noted that whether or not a player was vaccinated for COVID-19 was “under consideration” as the team made its roster cuts to get down to the opening week roster.
He signed Tim Tebow to the team to give him a shot at making the roster as a tight end. The team is 0-4 and has been blwon out in three of the games. His already hot seat is blazing right now.
Jacksonville and Tennessee are set to kick off at 1 p.m. E.T.
