Jalen Ramsey may want out of Jacksonville, but it looks like he is not going to get his wish.
Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan stated on Wednesday that he does not intend to trade the disgruntled cornerback despite his trade request.
“Obviously, football is a team sport and I’m sensitive to what individual insight or viewpoint or requests (there) might be,” Khan told Mark Long of The Associated Press. “But we have to do the right thing for the team. We value the values Jalen adds to us, to the Jaguars. I think we value him highly. We’re still looking at what is the right thing for the Jaguars, and I think right now the best thing is to have him be part of the team.”
After bumping heads with head coach Doug Marrone on the sidelines in Week 2 against the Houston Texans — Ramsey demanded a trade the following day, but revealed his beef to leave stemmed from a “disrespectful” exchange with the front office.
Ramsey suited up in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans and what was reported to be his final game. That has all changed now.
“I’ve met with him,” Khan said. “I think my relationship with him is pretty good. This is not a request from me or a viewpoint from me. I have no issue, obviously. I’d love for him to be part of the Jaguars.”
The Jags currently sit at 2-2, which is tied with the rest of the AFC South.

“Obviously, we’re turning the season around and I think he can help the team,” Khan said.
Khan previously stated he felt comfortable to make Ramsey the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.
Ramsey was drafted fifth overall by the Jaguars in 2016 and is tied to his rookie contract through the 2020 campaign.
