NFL free agent Jadeveon Clowney apparently has a message for the New York Jets. According to former Seattle Seahawks teammate and free safety Bradley McDougald, whom New York acquired Saturday in a trade for strong safety Jamal Adams, Clowney wants the Jets “to come get him.”
McDougald published a tweet Monday that showed him and Clowney on facetime together.
“Spoke to my boy @clownejd today, told me to the tell the @nyjets to come get him!!” McDougald said. “Let’s make it happen (folded hands emoji).”
Clowney collected an underwhelming three sacks for the Seahawks last year, and being that he is a player who has never had a double-digit sack year, he had to drop his asking price this offseason when no teams offered him anywhere near what he wanted.
Per OverTheCap, the Jets current have $21 million in cap space.
