Well, it looks like Jadeveon Clowney was all set and ready to join his teammates after sitting out for training camp and through three preseason games, but things quickly changed when he got word that the Texans were trying to trade him.
Clowney initially planned to sign his one-year franchise tender until he found out that info, so he made a decision to control his next destination by staying away, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Now, it remains unclear when he’ll sign his tender. As an unsigned franchise player, the Texans DE can only nab a 1-year deal, and his one-year franchise tag is worth either $15.967 million.
If he chooses to take this holdout until the regular season, he could lose upwards of $1 million a week.
