As the NFL trade deadline nears, the Browns may be looking at bringing in another quarterback with the uncertain health of Deshaun Watson.
The Browns are in solid shape at 4-3 given everything they have dealt with.
Cleveland Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot thinks the team needs to trade for a quarterback while mentioning two of them. She thinks either trading for Jacoby Brissett or Joshua Dobbs should be on the table for the team.
She wrote:
“If the Browns can’t pry Jacoby Brissett away from the Commanders, they should try to get quarterback Joshua Dobbs back from the Cardinals by today’s 4 p.m. trade deadline and possibly even start him Sunday against Arizona.
He wouldn’t cost much in either draft pick compensation or salary ($1.5 million base this season), and he’d be an upgrade for the Browns over P.J. Walker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the short term.
The Cleveland Browns have already been rumored to be in the market for a wide receiver, but they have a more pressing need at quarterback.

Unfortunately for them, it appears as though the Minnesota Vikings have beaten them to the punch for Josh Dobbs.
Brissett posted career-highs in Cleveland last year as he filled in for the suspended Deshaun Watson. The Browns went 4-7 with Brissett under center.
The Browns are desperate for an upgrade at quarterback as the team is winning games despite having PJ Walker not playing well.
The severity of Deshaun Watson’s shoulder injury continues to be a mystery, along with how long he may be out.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter previously provided some clarity on Watson’s injury last Tuesday, writing: “Doctors told him that he has a strain of the subscapularis within the rotator cuff and he continues to have both pain and weakness with movement.
“This type of injury in baseball normally causes pitchers to miss 4-6 weeks. Watson continues to work to regain strength and velocity in his shoulder and shorten that window.”
Watson suffered the injury on a running play during a 27-3 win over the Tennessee Titans last month.
With the Browns at 4-3, they can’t afford to fall much further behind the 6-2 Ravens. P.J. Walker, who took over for Watson, will start Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
The NFL trade deadline is at 4 PM EST today.
