The injuries continue to mount for the Cleveland Browns. In addition to the injury sustained by wide receiver Elijah Moore during their preseason game on Friday, they suffered additional losses throughout the game.
Cleveland Browns reserve linebacker Jacob Phillips suffered a torn pec in Friday’s exhibition loss and he will now miss the remainder of the season.
He will undergo surgery.
This sucks for Phillips since he ended his 2022 season on injured reserve with the same injury. Phillips was battling for a roster spot behind Anthony Walker and Sione Takitaki at inside linebacker.
Phillips, who was drafted in the third round by the Browns out of LSU back in 2020, led the Tigers in tackles during their national championship-winning season in 2019.
His career has been unable to take off as he wanted as injuries continue to mount up every year for him. In addition to the torn pectoral muscles that have ended the last two years for him, he has also dealt with COVID during his rookie season and a biceps injury in his second year.
