After a surprisingly good 2022 season, the Jacksonville Jaguars look to continue their success in hopes of a division title and playoff berth once more in 2023.
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson is willing to make that happen by bringing in a familiar face to Jacksonville’s roster.
On Monday, the Jaguars waived tight end, Leonard Taylor, in order to make room for Josh Pederson, who is the son of the head coach.
Pederson had brief stints with the 49ers, Saints, and Chiefs before last playing for the Houston Gamblers of the USFL.
During his college career, Pederson caught 99 passes for 1,191 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 35 games. In 2019, he was named All-Sun Belt First Team after recording 43 receptions for 567 receiving yards and a team-leading nine receiving touchdowns.
Pederson is the second USFL player signed to a contract this offseason after Birmingham Stallions kicker Brandon Aubrey signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
