Jackson Mahomes is battling prosecutors over drug tests in his sexual battery case.
Jackson, the younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of aggravated sexual battery, as well as one count of misdemeanor battery for forcibly kissing a Kansas City restaurant owner and assaulting a waiter at her establishment in a separate incident after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.
“I was in shock,” Aspen Vaughn, the aforementioned owner, told The Kansas City Star. “Like you’re a child and he was trying to say, ‘We should be a power couple, and I’m like, ‘Clearly you’re out of your mind right now.'”
According to RadarOnline.com, the case has been pushed back to early 2024. Jackson remains out on a $100,000 bond but is on pretrial supervision and has been ordered not to have any contact with certain people involved in the case.
The publication is also reporting that Jackson’s attorney asked for his client to be released from pretrial supervision as he has tested negative for drugs on alcohol several times since being charged in May.
“I think somewhere around 10 [tests] have come back clean,” Brandan Davies said in court.

The prosecution was not at all obliging in their response, accusing Jackson of contacting someone he is not allowed to contact.
“Judge, there is, we’ve had information that would indicate that he has been having contact with someone he’s not supposed to be having contact with and we still think he needs to be monitored,” Megan Ahsens noted.
“I don’t think that the defense is going to want me to say some of the things I need to say, so if we can do this via email, that would be great. I think the court will understand my objection.”
A preliminary hearing was set for Tuesday but Davies asked for a 30-day continuance, which was granted. It has been pushed back to January because of scheduling conflicts.
