New England Patriots defensive back Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport Friday after two loaded guns were found in his carry-on luggage.
According to attorney Michael McCann, Jones is in “a lot of trouble” with “serious charges” potentially on the table for him.
“Jones is in a lot of trouble. He’s in a lot of trouble because he’s facing multiple offenses and they’re serious offenses, including a large-capacity feeding device… There’s a lot of stuff that he’s been charged with. Certainly from what we know he’s facing serious charges that carry potential time in prison. That has to be very worrisome for him beyond how this will affect his career with the Patriots and his eligibility to play in the NFL…” McCann said on NBC Sports Boston.
The Transportation Security Administration said Jones was ticketed to travel to Los Angeles but guns were found during the routine X-ray screening of carry-on luggage at the airport’s security checkpoint.
He was booked at the State Police-Logan Airport Barracks as bail was set at $50,000.
The Patriots minicamp was held last week at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. Players will return the last week in July.

The irony was on full display for the sports world when his old tweet featured sharp criticism of Grizzlies star Ja Morant’s behavior regarding firearms.
Morant is in trouble yet again for flashing a handgun during an Instagram Live video for the second time and is currently facing a 25-game suspension to start the 2023–24 season.
Jones has yet to find out his punishment, but it appears he has more to be worried about with his freedom than his career.
Jones is facing charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, police said.
