Can you imagine an already unstoppable team getting the best wide receiver in the game? That would’ve been criminal.
On Tuesday, a call between Antonio Brown and his agent Drew Rosenhaus was released and not only did the Oakland Raiders WR throw massive shade at the Buffalo Bills, but it revealed just how close he came to becoming teammates with Antonio Brown.
Here’s what Rosenhaus told Brown on the phone call:
“I want you to have a good quarterback and I want you to be in a … winning environment man. New England, Philadelphia — these are two of the last Super Bowl champs, you know? … I wouldn’t rule Oakland out, but I don’t want to get your hopes up. …. That’s a good development for us that they’re now willing to trade you to New England. So now it’s the process of New England stepping up. But that’s not good business for them to trade you to the world champs in the same conference.”
Brown, suggesting that Robert Kraft was a cool owner, seemed excited about the idea of joining New England.
“That would be amazing. We need that respect, that guarantee. Robert Kraft is a cool guy, too,” Brown said of potentially getting dealt to New England.
Rosenhaus responded: “Kraft is one of the wealthiest guys in the NFL, AB.”
“That would be great,” Brown said.
Aside from the Raiders, who he ended up being traded to — the Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans were also in discussions for his services.
