Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay will try to end a two-game losing streak when they host the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
There are several interesting storylines for this matchup. Among them: Brady will try to get revenge against the team that initially sent him into a 40-day retirement earlier this year.
After the Rams eliminated the Buccaneers in the 2021 NFC Divisional Round, Brady announced his retirement from football. 40 days later, however, the seven-time Super Bowl champion announced he was coming back for a 23rd season.
Last week, Brady and Gisele Bündchen announced that they were divorcing after 13 years of marriage. As noted by Marca.com, something big always seems to happen in Brady’s personal life when he plays the Rams.
As Marca.com pointed out, the marriage between Brady and Bündchen seemingly began to greatly unravel when he announced he was coming out of his retirement, less than two months after they lost to the Rams.
Brady and the New England Patriots defeated the Rams in Super Bowl 53 four seasons ago. Though it was another milestone in Brady’s illustrious career, Marca noted that TB12’s partnership and two-decade run with Bill Belichick ended one year later.
And now Brady and the Bucs are hosting the Rams just over a week after he announced his divorce. Also, Brady enters this game with a three-game losing streak, the first of his career since the 2002 season.
